| JaBSoc Jam - 23rd October 2009 |
|
Yes, that's right, the JABSOC JAM is back! Now in its fourth year, this is your chance to experience the way improvised music is done at the University of Birmingham. If you play an instrument, bring your horn/sticks/strings and get some grooves going with like-minded people. If you don't, come along and listen - we've played host to some incredible sessions in the past and this Friday will be no different. Also, making his return to the wheels of steel is resident JaBSoc DJ Uncle Silverback, who'll be spinning some of the best jazz, funk, hip hop, and fusion known to man. If all this wasn't enough, you get FREE ENTRY ALL NIGHT, even if you aren't a JaBSoc member yet - how nice are we? Non-students are very welcome too. Any questions post below and we'll try and get back to you - for rhythm players we've got a drum kit, bass amp, and piano - anything else you want bring along. Singers are also very welcome, just make sure you've got music in some form (leadsheets/chordsheets normally fine) and know what key you want to sing in!
